Hello Preschool Families, God has blessed us with so many beautiful days!!! We have been going outside everyday. We will continue to go outside as long as the weather hold out!!!
This week I will not send home a paper copy of the preschool newsletter, I have only added a few items, so I will not waste paper.
If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to contact me!!
End of Preschool Celebration: We have changed the name of our Preschool Graduation to End of Preschool Celebration. Date: Tuesday June 8, 2021 Time: 10:30 am Location: The Rosary Garden (located off Morningside in front of the parish offices) Please park in the main parking lot and walk over to the garden. Attendance Guidelines: Each student may only have two family members in attendance. Everyone must wear a mask. Families must sit at least six feet apart. There will not be any socializing before/after our celebration. We will begin promptly at 10:30am and will finish by 11:00am. Our ½ day students will be free to leave and our full day students will continue with the rest of our day. Please bring your own lawn chair/camp chair. Rain backup plan will be to have the students do the celebration in our classroom and we will do a live feed from our classroom google meet. Parents will have to tune into our google classroom meet link or view the recorded link after the event. Parents will not be able to attend our celebration if we have it in our classroom. (Rain Out Option) We will record the celebration for those parents that may not be able to attend.
Calendar Changes: Please review the dates to remember section below. There have been several changes to the May/June calendar with several days being NO SCHOOL days now that were previously school days. I plan on sending reminder emails at the beginning of each week where there has been a schedule change.
Outside Days: As the weather continues to warm up, we will try to get outside as much as possible. We have started to use our preschool patio as an extension of our classroom. Please send your child to school with the appropriate outside clothing- a light jacket, sweater, or hoodie/zip up jacket. Also, if the weather has been very wet, you may send rain boots.
Library Books: Our Library day is Thursday, please make sure that your child returns their library book by Thursday morning each day. Mrs. Walter comes to collect our books right after the 8:00 bell. If you child does not return their book from the previous week they will not be able to check out a book until the book is returned.
Handwriting: We have finished all 4 Units of our handwriting books. We have learned all the different line names, and we have practiced all the upper and lowercase letters. We will continue to review all the upper and lowercase letters for the rest of the year. We will have mystery letters each day to help us review.
Letters this week: Mystery Letters, ask your child what our letter was today!! Numbers this week: Mystery Numbers begin this week!!!
Religion: This week Lesson 28 – Celebrating Mass Together
Book Orders: Purely Optional. I highly encourage reading to your child daily – so beneficial to developing pre-reading skills and the love of books. Order forms will come home monthly. All orders must be submitted online. When orders are in, the books will be double bagged and sent home. May scholastic orders have been submitted. Books should come in next week!!! New from Scholastic, you can ship books directly to your home. Check out the information when you are placing your online order!!
Family Connections Project: May Family Connections Project: The May family connections project will be a reflection of your child's favorite memory about this year. We will be sending home a special sheet of paper for you to help your child write their memory and draw a picture. When we are drawing/coloring in our classroom we ask the students to use at least three colors. Please encourage your child to draw several details in their picture and to use at least three colors when coloring their picture. Also, please have your child write their name on the front of their drawing. Please feel free to let us know if you have anyquestions. Please return these projects by May 27, 2021.
Here are a few reminders: ** Please use the car line for drop off if possible. You may park your car at the far east end of the parking lot by the paper dumpsters if necessary, please walk to the court yard using the sidewalk, not the parking lot.** **Please check your child’s folder when it comes home each day, there may be items in the “Return to School” side that need attention and then sent back to school. **Please have girls wear shorts/leggings under their dresses. **Remember that Friday is an enrichment day, there will not be any new material presented on Fridays due to some students not attending on Fridays**
