March 22, 2020
We have missed you all so much this past week. We hope everyone is healthy and that you are all enjoying being with your families and finding some ways to have fun and stay busy. Starting today, we will be sending an email once a week that gives you a few things to do every day to continue learning from home. We don’t want anyone to stress about getting things done so just do what you can. Each day will include a link to a YouTube video of our classroom carpet time, where we are doing our calendar, a song and a story. We hope you enjoy them. You are also welcome to just subscribe to our YouTube channel Mrs. Dobija to see the videos. Both Mrs. Dobija and Mrs. Kanka will have videos on the channel. Along with the video we will be suggesting one simple activity to do with your family and two app or website suggestions to check out. Just like the big kids in our school we have been given permission to use IXL to practice our math and language arts too. We will be suggesting an IXL activity daily. You should have been emailed with your child’s username and password so please let us know if you did not receive it. We will be checking in here and there during the week to see how things are going, or if we find new fun suggestions. We may even make some videos of simple fun science experiments or other things you might want to try at home. We would love to hear from our kiddos. Our phone numbers are, Mrs. Kanka (586)489-3612 and Mrs.Dobija (248)703-9873, feel free to send texts or pictures or videos. We are also on the Marco Polo app which allows you to send videos back and forth and the Zoom app which is like facetime so feel free to keep in touch. We send you all virtual hugs and we hope we will be back together in our classrooms again soon!! Please let us know if you have any questions.

Our Special Classes Lesson Plans:
Mrs. Walter Lesson Plans for Computers:
4 year olds and Young Fives
No specific lessons to be done, allow child “exploration” time on the computer with you!
I will attach websites that the children have enjoyed in the classroom. They all work on PC’s but I do not know about other devices. If the computer says it needs Flash Player, it can be installed but as of December 20,2020 it will no longer work. Certainly, plenty of time.
Websites for fun:
Good educational sites:
https://pbskids.org/ Allows students to go on games and video’s. Some things are free access, some no longer exist. Kids have gone on nature games, shapes games, math games, it’s best to do these with the child to know how to “work” the game.
https://www.starfall.com/h/index-kindergarten.php?mg=k Great website for letters. I only use the free access. The ABCs are all free access, we went on Geometry and Measurement and they could do some. Some of the Talking Library and Reading are free too.
